Why we support the Buddy Bag Foundation

Have you heard of the Buddy Bag Foundation?

This amazing charity is directly helping children who find themselves ripped from their homes and placed in emergency care in unimaginable circumstances.

Families are forced to flee domestic violence without a moment’s notice – often with just the clothes they are standing up in, leaving all their belongings behind and not knowing when they can or will be picked up again.

This is where the Buddy Bag Foundation comes in – providing vital items to help bring comfort and even perhaps, move towards calm amid the chaos. Those key things include toiletries, clothing and a soft toy.

The Epic Investments team supports the Buddy Bag Foundation and has got directly involved in packing bags ready to be taken to children who really need them, when they need them.

On Friday 21st October 2016 we organised a glitzy charity ball to support the charity as well as Sense, the blind, deaf charity which is also local & Greg is Vice Chairman of the West Midlands branch of the charity supporting their fundraising efforts. The ball was a huge success, raising £6,500 which was split between these 2 worthwhile charities.

This is what the Buddy Bag Foundation says: “We have created the Buddy Bag Foundation in response to the rising number of children who enter emergency care after fleeing violent situations at home.

Restoring a sense of safety and security into a child’s life during a traumatic time is one of the first steps to recovery. By providing these children with a few essential items, we can help make the transition into emergency care a little easier.

To support children in this situation we have created the Buddy Bag to provide comfort when all else has been removed.
